Variety Discusses Big Budgets and VFX

Roger Guyett and Christophe Hery Invited to Join the Academy; Craig Barron New VFX Governor

The Academy recently announced their list of 2005 Invitees to join the Academy. The VFX category includes ILM VFX Supervisors Roger Guyett and Christophe Hery along with VFX Supervisor Mark Forker of Digital Domain, Blair Clark from Tippett Studio, Miniature Supervisor Matthew Gratzner and Illusion Arts Compositing Supervisor David S. Williams, Jr. among others. The Academy also announced that former ILM members Craig Barron, co-founder of Matte World Digital, and John Lasseter, co-founder of Pixar, have been elected to the Board of Governors for the VFX Branch and the short films and feature animation respectively.

Slate Discusses George Lucas and Steven Spielberg Relationship
