Animation Artist magazine is reporting that former ILM Artist Will Clay has joined Serious Robots.

CGNetworks.com is conducting an interview with Craig Mullins, former ILM matte painter, in conjunction with the recent release of the Exposé 1 book. He was chosen as the first Exposé Grand Master and in the article he discusses his art and inspirations.

CGNetworks is running an article on the making of Finding Nemo, which features extensive comments from John Lasseter, Director Andrew Stanton, Ralph Eggleston, Sharon Calahan, and Oren Jacob among many others. They have also posted a second article with animators Carlos Baena, who worked at ILM, and Victor Navone. Deathfall.com is running also a piece with directors Andrew Stanton and Lee Unkrich. Craig Mullins, former matte painter at ILM, is being recognized with the Exposé Grand Master Award, done by CGNetworks in conjunction with a the Exposé book soon to be published which celebrates some of the outstanding art done in CG.

The Official Gillian Anderson (of X-Files fame) website is running its 7th online auction benefiting the Neurofibromatosis, Inc. charity. There are three ILM crew items being offered up: an ILM crew duffel bag, a set including an ILM t-shirt and CD holder, and a VFX crew bag from Star Wars Episode 1.

The official Matrix website is running and interview with former ILM member Kim Marks about his work as Second Unit Director for The Matrix Reloaded.

In honor of Ray Harryhausen finally getting his Hollywood Walk of Fame star (on June 10), the American Cinematheque at the Egyptian Theatre will present a retrospective of the classic films from the master. Ray Harryhausen will be present there to discuss his work. The event, which will show 8 Harryhausen films plus the recently completed "The Tortoise And The Hare", will run from June 13 to June 15, 2003.

CGChannel.com is running an in-depth interview with former ILM VFX Supervisor Stephen Rosenbaum, about the work he supervised at Cinesite for X2: X-Men United. Among the visual effects he supervised there included the Nightcrawler bamf shots, Cerebro and the formation of the ice wall by Bobby "Iceman" Drake, and he also mentions how the team was setup and some of their tools.

Pixar has put online the teaser of their next film, The Incredibles, directed by Brad Bird, which is playing in front of Finding Nemo.

The Salt Lake Tribune newspaper has posted an article about a tour given to the press to the Pixar campus, in part because of the release of Finding Nemo. Also cable channel TechTV is running a special on the movie which includes many shots inside the studio plus several work in progress shots. Quotes from principals like Ed Catmull, John Lasseter, Dylan Brown, Bill Reeves, Ralph Eggleston, Andrew Stanton and Lee Unkrich are spread in the two pieces.

CBS' 60 Minutes II broadcast for this Wednesday (May 28, 2003 at 9 pm EST) will feature an segment on Pixar, with a look at the artists, directors and technicians, like John Lasseter, and the upcoming Finding Nemo.

Cinescape is announcing that French animation house Sparx is seeking U$ 50 million to create a film based of Doug Chiang's Robota book. Sprax was already involved in creating a couple of trailers based on the book. Doug Chiang, former ILM and Star Wars prequel Art Director is currently working on Polar Express, for Robert Zemeckis, and under the supervision of Ken Ralston.

The 3D Festival website has been updated with a report from the recently concluded conference which took place on Copenhagen, Denmark. You can see a couple of shots of ILM Animation Director Rob Coleman too.

ILM has been nominated for Best Feature Film VFX at the 3DFestival 2003 for their work in Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones.

CGChannel.com is running a short article on the latest spec commercial by former ILM artist Andrew Hardaway. The commercial is part of a series displaying some urban myths in relation to a Volkswagen Beetle.

In one of the Cinefex updates it states that former ILM member Scott E. Anderson is working for The Orphanage supervising the work for Wes Craven's Cursed.

Hero, Zhang Yimou's latest film, has won the award for Best Visual Effects at the Hong Kong Film Awards. Among the recipients of the award were several former members of ILM: Ellen Poon (former ILM VFX Supervisor and founder of DFreedomZone), Christopher Horvath (former ILM CG artist and developer and cofounder and VFX Supervisor of Tweak Films), and Jonathan Rothbart (former ILM Rebel Unit artist and VFX Supervisor and cofounder of The Orphanage), along Murray Pope.
