Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, directed by Mike Newell, opens today. It stars Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Robbie Coltrane, Ralph Fiennes, Michael Gambon, Brendan Gleeson, Jason Isaacs, Gary Oldman, Miranda Richardson, Alan Rickman, Maggie Smith, Timothy Spall, Robert Pattinson, Stanislav Ianevski, ClÃ©mence PoÃ©sy, Katie Leung, Tom Felton, Roger Lloyd-Pack and David Bradley. The fourth installment of the Harry Potter saga has Harry (apparently erroneously) in the extremely dangerous TriWizard Tournament, with the menace of Voldemort's Death Eaters on the horizon.
VFX were mainly provided by ILM under the supervision of Tim Alexander, Cinesite Europe under the supervision of Simon Stanley-Clamp and JosÃ© Granell, The Moving Picture Company under the supervision of Ben Shepherd and Charley Henley, Framestore/CFC, Rising Sun Pictures under the supervision of Tony Clark, The Orphanage under the supervision of Jonathan Rothbart, Double Negative under the supervision of Mark Michaels, BUF Compagnie under the supervision of Stephane Ceretti and Animal Logic under the supervision of Kirsty Millar. Jim Mitchell from ILM serves as Overall VFX Supervisor. Among the VFX will be numerous environments like Hogwarts, the Quidditch World Cup stadium and locles for the TriWizard Tournament like a deadly maze and a dragon lair plus numerous creatures like mermaids and dragons.
