First Trailer for Eight Below
Yahoo! Movies has posted online the first trailer for Frank Marshall's Eight Below (previously known as Antarctica), with VFX supervised by Jonathan Harb. On the other hand Apple's trailer section has HD versions of the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and Chicken Little trailer, plus the regular Rent trailer.
The Computer World magazine have articles discussing the data center at the Letterman Digital Arts Center at the Presidio. Lucasfilm Chief Technology Officer Cliff Plumer and others give detailed descriptions of the renderfarm and network infrastructure of the home of ILM and LucasArts.
The Hollywood Reporter has an article discussing both the history and the current state of the art in movie previsualization. It mentions both the original Star Wars and Star Wars Episode III Revenge of the Sith and includes comments from Dan Gregoire of Halon Entertainment, VFX Supervisors Robert Legato, Loni Peristere of Zoic and Carey Villegas of Imageworks, and Pixel Liberation Front CTO Andy Jones.

Apple's trailer site has posted the second trailer for Sam Mendes' Jarhead, with VFX supervised by Pablo Helman. Moviefone has also posted the first 4 min. of Chicken Little and a higher resolution version of the second international trailer for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire has appeared as well.
American Cinematographer Interviews Richard Edlund
The American Cinematographer website has an interview with Richard Edlund, former ILM VFX Supervisor, Boss Film head honcho and now head of the Academy's VFX Branch and SciTech committee. In it he discusses his career and influences as a Cinematographer.
VFXWorld.com has an article dealing with outsourcing in the VFX industry to such places as India, Eastern Europe and Latin America. Jai Natrajan, who worked at ILM and is now a consultant in Mumbai, along with other comments on this trend.
CGSociety and other sites are reporting that Autodesk has acquired Alias $182 million cash in a totally surprising move. In other news, BBC, CNN and other news outlets have reported that a fire has completely destroyed a warehouse where Aardman Animations stored most of theatrical props.
The Island is Michael Bay's latest high gloss action/science fiction film about the thorny issues of human cloning and the power of science. ILM provided the VFX under the supervision of Eric Brevig, who previously worked with the director on Pearl Harbor.

The Hyperspace section of official Star Wars site has put online the ILM Star Wars Episode III Revenge of the Sith SIGGRAPH 2005 reel. This clip provides a quick visual breakdown of the VFX work in the film.

VFX Preview of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
NarniaWeb and Moviefone have posted a video about the VFX work in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. ILM VFX Supervisor Scott Farrar and Creature Supervisor Jeff White discuss their contributions to the final battle sequence. Bill Westenhofer of Rhythm and Hues, David Schaub of Imageworks and Overall VFX Supervisor Dean Wright, among others, discuss the extensive VFX work in the film.
