Digital Matte Painting Artist Jonathan Harb will speak at the CGOverdrive 2006 Conference, which takes place in Singapore July 14-16, 2006. He will talk about the new Digital Artist Group in the Singapore Lucasfilm Animation unit, which will work alongside ILM.

ILM Working on Evan Almighty, Harry Potter 5 and The Spiderwick Chronicles

ILM has confirmed that it will be providing VFX for Evan Almighty, directed by Tom Shadyac, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, directed by David Yates, and The Spiderwick Chronicles, directed by Mark Waters. No VFX Supervisors have been confirmed yet.
The official Transformers site has posted the first teaser trailer. The film is being directed by Michael Bay with VFX by ILM supervised by Scott Farrar.
CGSociety and Ballistic Publishing have an interview with concept artists George Hull, one of the artists featured in the d’artiste: Concept Art book. He was a conceptual artists and VFX Art Director at ILM on such projects as Mission: Impossible and The Lost World: Jurassic Park and later worked on such projects as the Matrix sequels.
The Apple site has the exclusive of posting the third Lady in the Water. The film directed by M. Night Shyamalan has VFX work by ILM under the supervision of Ed Hirsh.

Dennis Muren at Equinox Screening at the Egyptian Theatre

Senior VFX Supervisor Dennis Muren will be one of the panelists of a special screening of Equinox at the American Cinematheque at the Egyptian Theatre on Wednesday, July 12, 2006 8pm. There will also be a DVD signing session afterwards.
The Autodesk SIGGRAPH 2006 User Group Event will feature customer presentations from ILM, Frantic Films, The Orphanage and GMJ. The event will take place Monday July 31, 2006 4-7pm at The Westin Boston Waterfront hotel.
