American Cinematheque Honors ILM and Skywalker Sound History and Contributions

by malducin

The American Cinematheque at the Egyptian Theatre will present a large scale tribute to ILM and Skywalker Sound, covering both their history and techniques. The event will take place between February 6, 2003 and February 16, 2003. Some of the speakers expected include Directors George Lucas and James Cameron, VFX Supervisors Dennis Muren, John Knoll, Pablo Helman, Eric Brevig, and Stefen Fangmeier, Animation Directors Rob Coleman and Dan Taylor, veteran model makers Lorne Peterson, Steve Gawley and Jeff Mann, new R&D Director Steve Sullivan, master digital model maker Geoff Campbell, technical animation supervisor James Tooley, and VFX Producer and big cheese Patty Blau, plus sound guys like Ben Burtt, Gary Rydstrom, Chris Boyes, and Randy Thom.

While the schedule of many of these speakers is tentative the program is quite impressive.
