The Economic Times at the India Times is reporting that ILM is looking at India to outsource some of the VFX and animation work to India. Associate VFX Supervisor Samir Hoon comments on some of the reasons and plans ILM is looking at the Indian market.
The article is a bit confusing though since it seems to imply this will be done first for Lucasfilm Animation a separate entity though closely related to ILM. Earlier this year Rhythm and Hues reported that they had a subsidiary in India doing some of the 3D work. You can read the article here:
