ILM to Work on The Day After Tomorrow, 2 VFX Supes Confirmed, Cinefex Covers T3

by malducin

Issue 95 of Cinefex will cover the VFX work in The Matrix Reloaded (ESC), Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (ILM was the main provider, also R!ot, Digiscope and others), Seabiscuit (Imageworks, The Orphanage and Pixel Playground among others) and Spy Kids 3D: Game Over (Hybride, The Orphanage, CIS and ComputerCafe among others). Next issue will have coverage on 2 ILM projects: Peter Pan (Scott Farrar is the VFX Supervisor and Digital Domain has also been brought in) and Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (Stefen Fangmeier is the ILM Supervisor, Nathan McGuinness of Asylum is the primary VFX Supervisor while Weta Workshop was also involved), plus coverage of the eagerly anticipated Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King by Weta. Most interesting is that the entries for ILM's future projects have been updated. Finally they list ILM for Master and Commander and confirm VFX Supervisors Bill George for Stuck on You, Eric Brevig for the Blackout Murders, and most surprising of all, Jim Mitchell for a new ILM project The Day After Tomorrow, whose overall supervisor is Karen E. Goulekas and Digital Domain is the primary provider under the supervision of Matthew Butler (in an arrangement a bit similar to The Time Machine).
